2026 Troupe fees, commitment & info
Being part of a Studio Move competition team is a privilege and a commitment to your team, your teachers and yourself. To keep things fair, supportive, and high-quality for everyone, all competition dancers are expected to meet the following guidelines.
Attendance & Commitment
Outstanding attendance is required at all enrolled dance classes and troupe trainings.
Competition dates are a priority. Dancers must show up prepared and on time for their team.
Absences should be rare and communicated early. Consistent missed training affects the whole group.
Troupe competitions in our calendar take priority over solo competitions and commitments.
Fees
All fees must be paid on time and kept up to date.
Ongoing overdue fees may affect a dancer’s ability to participate in competitions.
Team Behaviour & Representation
Dancers must represent Studio Move positively at all competitions.
This includes kind behaviour, good sportsmanship, respect for others and wearing the Studio Move competition jacket when required.
We expect dancers to support their teammates on and off stage.
Work Ethic & Home Practice
Competition dancers are expected to take responsibility for their learning by:
Practising at home
Learning choreography promptly
Taking corrections seriously
Coming to training prepared and focused
For dancers under 10 years old, this responsibility sits with parents/caregivers.
Parents are expected to enable, support and encourage home practice.
This includes helping dancers remember choreography, practising routines together and creating time and space at home for practice.
Strong work ethic and consistent home practice are essential to a dancer’s success and to not letting the team down.
Technical Training Requirements
To ensure dancers are prepared for competitions and keep improving technical standards, the following technical class requirements apply to all dancers doing a comp team in 2026. It differs slightly for age groups and teams/genres so please check your email or ask us if you are unsure about the number + type of classes your dancer is doing.
Enrolled in and attending technical classes (Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary preferred) weekly.
Enrolled in and attending a Ballet Tech class.
Enrolled in and attending their troupe class each week.
Working at home on things they personally need to improve on as well as team choreography.
Ballet Tech Alternative Option
If a dancer cannot attend their scheduled Ballet Tech session, they may enrol in a lower-level Ballet class (based on age and grade) or a lower level Ballet Tech class. Please email us for help with this.
This class cannot be their current level or a similar level.
The purpose is to allow dancers to focus on technique, placement and corrections without pressure to keep up.
No exceptions - this applies to everyone equally to keep things fair.
Troupe fees
What They Cover in 2026:
Our troupe fees are structured to be fair, affordable and great value, while covering the real cost of running our successful competition programme for the year. The fee is calculated using an average full-year cost and split evenly across four terms, making payments more manageable and predictable. We have included all fees that we possibly can within this structure (hence the jump in price) to avoid extra, one-off invoices.
Troupe fees cover:
ALL extra lessons / meetings held before Term 1
ALL April Intensive Camp Days in the school holidays
ALL extra lessons we choose to do to help our dancers
Access to home practise videos & music files
All troupe staffing (including multiple teachers on some teams)
Music purchase and editing
Comp Uniform (see below)
Costume design and coordination
Team management and communication
All competition entry fees (significant increase this year)
A Studio Move staff member at every single competition and event
Venue hire for troupe trainings + showcase events
This approach avoids additional charges popping up throughout the year.
Please note:
Ballet Tech fees are not included. Ballet Tech is $125/term for anyone, $100 for comp dancers.
Costume fees are not included. These will be invoiced in week 4, payable over a 10 week period.
Troupe fees are invoiced per term from Terms 1 - 4 and can be part-paid or have due dates extended. Please get in touch if you are genuinely stressed about the cost of our 2026 fees and the ability of your dancer to take part. We have one partial scholarship (from 2025 prize giving) that we can award to one of our Movers.
junior fee - $160/term (peewees, rascals, cubs, petals)
Inter fee - $170/term (summit, cadettes, emeralds)
Senior fee - $180/term (burn, rangers, rovers)
Discounts apply for dancers doing multiple teams. The fee above applies to the first team ONLY. After that, each subsequent team is discounted $45.
Our Commitment to You
When your dancer joins a Studio Move troupe, they become part of a programme that values quality, care, and great experiences - both on and off the stage. We are committed to providing an environment where dancers feel supported, challenged and proud to represent their team.
We commit to:
A brand new, high-quality Studio Move competition uniform jacket. Provided free for all troupe members in 2026 only. Designed to be high impact, warm and practical and yes, you’re going to love it. It’s not like anything we’ve had before. Included in comp fees for this year only, made to order/purchase from 2027.
Team AND individual headshots.
Running another competition showcase! It was a big highlight last year.
A supportive, kind learning environment. Where dancers are encouraged to work hard, support one another and grow with confidence.
A clear, fair calendar that is updated as early as possible and equally values training times + comps as well as break days and family time.
Fun classes and positive competition experiences. We aim for competitions to be exciting, motivating and something dancers look forward to - not something they feel stressed about.
Creative, high-quality choreography and concepts that are innovative, age-appropriate routines designed to showcase dancers’ strengths and keep things fresh and exciting.
Access to music and rehearsal videos so dancers can practise confidently at home and families can support their learning.
A Studio Move teacher at every competition and event so our dancers are always supported, guided, and cared for and parents can enjoy competitions.
Thoughtfully designed, high-quality costumes that elevate performances and help dancers feel confident on stage.
Experienced and knowledgeable teachers who understand both strong technical training and the realities of the competition world.
Regular competition opportunities. Entry into at least one competition per month during competition season, giving dancers consistent performance experience.
Good vibes and great memories. We’re serious about training, but we’re just as serious about creating moments dancers will remember for years.
